Cambodian startup entered top 10 of the final round at VAS Track 2019 competition
Viettel Advanced Solution Track 2019 (VAS Track 2019) is a creative startup competition worldwide organized by Viettel Group. With the message "STARTING A NEW REALITY", this opens up a large playground for start up around the word that are looking for breakthrough solutions with the combination of telecommunications strengths to create international-standard Products / Services for the present and future life.
Among the 10 brightest candidates for this final round, there is LaundryKH team from Cambodia. The other teams come from Peru, Mozambique, Tanzania, Indonesia and Vietnam.
LaundryKH is a digital platform which makes the laundry owners and their customers feel free to cooperate with each other. Laundry owners will pick up clothes directly from their customers and deliver back to them after finishing the service. Moreover, the laundry’s owner can track the process in the shop without confusing clothes or having late delivery back to their beloved customers.
This will allow the customer saving their time on travelling back and forth to the laundry shop, which is the highlight value of this app. The customers are more comfortable with the shop that they don’t have to worry about losing their clothes.
LaundryKH is the newest laundry services app comparing to other existing ones in Cambodia. At the presentation to the judges, Mr. Him Soklong, team leader at LaundryKH, is confident with their application: “LaundryKH will be quite potential to perform in practice because it’s the newest laundry services app in Cambodia. In Phnom Penh city, there are lots of students and workers who don’t have enough time to do their own laundry. They need to take their clothes to laundry shop. In addition, the laundry shop also faces lots of problems with their in-house management and supervision. So our app will be the best choice for them.”
“Our startup participates in this contest because we want to gain more experiences with the new technology and we want to showcase our business model created by young Cambodians to the world. Moreover, we would like to learn more about business model and applied technology from other teams across the globe” he added.
Having not much experience at the beginning of developing the app, the team has step by step overcame the challenges and now they are at the final destination - the VAS Track 2019. They expect to receive valuable advices from experts at the competition and to improve their app to achieve more successes in the future. “And of course, we are strongly positive that we will win the ticket to the finale of VietChallenge in US in September” he smiled brightly.

Besides, the winning teams will also get the consultation 1-1 by professors at major universities such as Harvard, MIT, Boston and experts in Silicon Valley.
